5. Make the basis of the vegetable garden from brown colored paper.

Bend the paper every 1 centimeter. You should get a part of the following form

Glue the part to the cardboard base

6. Download the garden fence stencil [ link ]. Using a stencil, cut out a garden fence from colored cardboard. Use paper glue to glue the parts.

7. Make models of plants for the garden. Use green-colored cardboard. Cut out plant layouts as shown in the following video and glue them to the garden using paper glue.

8. Make pipe layouts. Use juice straws and duct tape. Cut the pipes according to the size of the garden.

Glue the pipes to the garden with double-sided tape.

Conclusion

On this project, students learned the ways to save water and learned how to make basic calculations to save water in the house. The students also built a model of a system for collecting rainwater. We encourage students to consider improving the rainwater harvesting layout.

PBL based  assessment criteria:

Problem-based learning is a teaching method in which students acquire knowledge and skills, working on one project for 4 weeks, to research and find an answer to a genuine, interesting and complex question, problem, or challenge.

For project grading, in the first week, provide this material (PBLrubricsto students in order to:

– the students previously understood by what criteria they need to prepare,

– pupils were able to independently assess their colleagues.
