Lesson 2
Introduction
3D modeling is already becoming an important part of various spheres of human life. Three-dimensional graphics are used in science, industry, architectural visualization, and medicine. 3D graphics have taken a firm place in cinematography, computer games, and animation. Also, 3D models are an integral part of high-quality presentations and serve as the basis for creating a prototype of the product. Three-dimensional graphics greatly simplify life, both in professional activities and in everyday affairs.
It’s good when you can avoid difficulties and think through and see all the details in advance. 3D modeling will allow you to imagine how furniture, decoration, room layout, color solutions, etc. will look like. The process of creating a house plan has become easier and more interesting. Now everyone can come up with their dream home using free home planning and interior design software.
In this lesson, we will use professional SketchUp software. This program allows you to create three-dimensional models of houses, furniture, interiors, and the surrounding landscape with high accuracy. You can also generate statistics on the consumption of materials.
Practical part. 3D modeling
See the video for an example of modeling a house. You can also view a step-by-step text explanation of the process. (Click download)
You can attach materials. In the materials panel, select the desired materials and fill the surfaces.

Watch the video instructions.
The 3D model of the house is ready. So you can see what your house will look like in the future. You will find out in advance whether it will be convenient, whether you like the combination of colors of the walls and so on. In the next lesson, we will project this model in augmented reality.
Homework
Until next week, we recommend installing the Unity program to save time. The instructions are in the material for the next lesson.
