Lesson 4
Students work with impact mechanism
It could be a tennis ball on a tripod.
You can also use different objects as a simulated impact
You can try to fill the balloon with water
Strikes can be applied with different strength and in different areas
After the experiments and data obtained, students must protect their brain model using different materials.
Let them make a helmet to protect their model
Sample Materials
- paper
- cardboard
- plastic bags
- the cloth
- plastic
After repeating the experiments with striking again
Presentation of projects
This week the pupils are to present their finished project according to the points below:
- Research report/presentation
- Demonstration of Arduino skills and programming
- Demonstration of the resulting brain model
- Demonstration of designed head protection helmet
Evaluation
PBL assessment criteria:
Problem based learning is a learning method in which students acquire knowledge and skills by working on a single project over a 3- or 4-week period to explore and find the answer to a genuine, interesting and challenging question, problem or challenge (click on PBL Rubrics below).
