 In the course of this laboratory work, students conduct a series of experiments demonstrating the basic chemical properties of bases using the example of sodium hydroxide.

Reagents:

  • Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution
  • Hydrochloric acid (HCl)  solution
  • Copper Sulfate (CuSO₄) solution 
  • Ferric (III) chloride (FeCl₃) solution
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Indicators: Litmus, phenolphthalein (or natural indicator).

Equipment:

  • Test tubes - 4 pcs
  • Pipettes - 4 pcs
  • Alcohol lamp or dry fuel
  • Glass Wand
  • Test tube stand
  • Test tube holder.
  • Safety glasses and gloves
