Laboratory work #8: “Studying the properties of bases”
In the course of this laboratory work, students conduct a series of experiments demonstrating the basic chemical properties of bases using the example of sodium hydroxide.
Reagents:
- Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution
- Hydrochloric acid (HCl) solution
- Copper Sulfate (CuSO₄) solution
- Ferric (III) chloride (FeCl₃) solution
- Aluminum Foil
- Indicators: Litmus, phenolphthalein (or natural indicator).
Equipment:
- Test tubes - 4 pcs
- Pipettes - 4 pcs
- Alcohol lamp or dry fuel
- Glass Wand
- Test tube stand
- Test tube holder.
- Safety glasses and gloves
